It's just insane money man, atleast for Rice I can make a case that he is a homegrown starter but 100m is wayyyy too much for Bruno G. But i get your point abt inflated markets, imo we should look at importing from other leagues. One player that hasn't been talked abt as much is Fede Valverde who I think can be a good addition too
avatar
100% in for Olise tbh, what a talent.
avatar
Well, things were looking up but let's see what happens! Arsenal look stable and should be fine for a few years though
avatar
Absolutely not. Wenger changed dietary habits for players, had a huge hand in the new infrastructure at Arsenal (stadium, training ground) and all clubs who took notice, was in charge of a large portion of the finances, accelerated the arrival of talents from abroad into the PL and changed the perception of what perfect football should look like with beautiful football as opposed to traditional football like you’d see at Sunday league nowadays (obviously to a lower standard to PL from the 90s and earlier). Klopp has a legacy in this country for sure but no manager ever will come close to the legacy of Sir Alex or Wenger because both of those guys ran EVERYTHING in their clubs which is probably a big reason why Arsenal struggled initially and United have never been the same since Wenger and SFA left. Klopp and Pep are in charge of the team, the culture and have a say in the transfers- they don’t run the club. They arguably have created better teams overall than what SFA and Wenger had but they don’t have bigger legacies.
avatar
Look at the teams he’s played for in the pl and his coaches way different
avatar
Bros got the dead ball playstyle but he has 51 Free kick accuracy and 69 curve???
avatar
I wish they would update his face in game, he's been one of my favorite players to use for so many years now, and it always feel damn good to see those players you lowkey have a "connection" with, doing good IRL.
avatar
Third time lucky. James Corden said it would be a good idea
avatar
According to the board: No Conte No Tuchel No Jose Amorim, DeZerbi unlikely Hoeness is gonna stay at Stuttgart Bro we are cooked
avatar
Using CLs in “Best Premier League Manager” discussions lol
avatar
The color of the trophy does matter. One is gold, one doesn’t exist. Try these maths out: 3 titles, 5 runner ups in first 8 years > 1 title, 2 runner ups in first 8 years
avatar
90 with a gold trophy >>> 97 with nothing to show for it
avatar
Yup mhm definitely not the guy who won 3x as many titles as him and went invincible one year despite competing against SAF and Mourinho. Definitely not that guy.
avatar
Jurgen Klopp, one of the greats, with an average of 1 major trophy every 4 years. 1-3 in CL finals, 3-6 in domestic cup finals, more runner ups than league titles. Now that’s what I call the GOAT manager!
avatar
Same man, same. I get that it would like technically be a treble but the hype around them winning “THE” treble bothered me so much. You can’t just lump in secondary competitions whether it’s the Europa League, League Cup or supercups and stuff like that. There’s one way to win “THE” treble and it’s Champions League, primary domestic cup competition and top flight domestic league.
avatar
Also I thought that game was next week lmao, missed the whole thing
avatar
Thank god Leverkusen lost, now everyone can come back to earth and stop pretending they're one of the best teams of all time instead of just really really good.
avatar
Everton will topple you in a few years dw.
avatar
Shame to see Leverkusen fall so close to such a historic undefeated season. A little bit glad though in the sense that so much invincibles slander was going on cause we didn’t do it in all comps.
avatar
I think I might have started this so I’ll just say one last thing lol… Why is so much context added to make excuses for Klopp not doing more but then the context that Wenger disrupted a dynasty at the very least on par with City's is removed? Do y’all not know about Fergie Time? Or United breaking transfer records left and right in the 90s and early 00s? Wenger won the league in his first full season!!! He won 3 in 7 years and didn’t outside the top 2 until Year 9!! He has a record amount of FA Cups! 1A-SAF 1B-Pep 3-Wenger 4-Mourinho 5-Klopp. End of.
avatar
In sorry man, but I think Klopp is overrated. Klopp had 6 world's best players per position starting for him at their prime yet he won just one PL title.
avatar
You’re judging Klopp off hypotheticals that remove context from previous eras. Klopp competed with City for a total of 3 seasons in an 8 year span and won a single league title. Over the same span of Wenger’s career, he competed with SAF (the GOAT Prem manager) all 8 years, won 3 titles, came second 5 times and went Invincible. If we remove Klopp from this era, there’s barely a difference. City win 7 in a row instead of 6 in 7. Are we ignoring that Wenger came in to a league that SAF was *already* dominating (4 in 5) and won 3 titles in 7 years??? Wenger also has a record number of FA Cups. They’re not in the same stratosphere.
avatar
To add to Wenger's bit, we've covered many times what he did after moving to the new stadium up until probably Ozil's signing but for me the period after that, with Alexis coming in and Leicester's title in 15/16 (where it rly should have been us) showed that Wenger wasn't rly all that far off another title. We never became "the English Bayern" and Wenger's image suffered for that a lot more than the owners who hid behind him. He loved and protected this club with all his heart. He had ego (like every great manager) and stayed for longer, at the very least should have left after his last FA Cup but he didn't know when to stop and wte people say about Klopp and the passion and the Liverpool connection... double it, this is what we had with Wenger. We're never going to have something like that ever again, the modern football will never allow it yet after we went to the new stadium, we needed this love, we needed someone to keep us floating when the overall plan honestly just wasn't great. I wish his image was a bit better, I wish we played our cards a bit better and I wish fortune smiled on us a bit more (like it could have but didn't for Klopp) but we didn't need our manager to hit fist pumps at the crowd to be loved and adored. I miss him for the good and the bad.
avatar
I think Wenger can easily be seen as underrated in certain recent convos. I absolutely hate the discussion that "Klopp didn't even need to win a 2nd EPL title to be above Wenger". The recency bias is disgusting and I'm glad that it was City to win the title and not Pool. Wenger stayed for too long, sure but when it's for example Mourinho and his 3 titles with Chelsea, people like to forget about his time at Man Utd and Spurs bc it doesn't fit the narrative that he doesn't got a better career in England than Wenger. Arsene's '96 to 2006 is always going to be better than the 2007 to 2018, sure but it's not like he did nothing in that 2nd part. Klopp probably left a bit earlier and fair play to him for being honest with the fact that he just cannot push his Pool team anymore. He squeezed it as much as he could. As for this City team, I can't sit around and pretend like the level of the league isn't lower. I'm sorry but in the golden EPL days, 89p was enough to win the title bc teams actually fought you. 32p this season to remain in the league btw, what happened to needing 40? Fergie, Wenger and Mourinho's prime teams could have easily found a way to disrupt Pep's teams, we're speaking of some brilliant teams with legendary players. It's not just nostalgia speaking.
avatar
Klopp is not overrated, Wenger is not underrated. If you take this corrupt Man City team with the ridiculous squad depth, infinite budget and biased refereeing and you put them into any era then I can guarantee Sir Alex, Mourinho, Wenger would’ve won less trophies. The only slight stain on Klopp’s career is that the PL trophy they won will forever be slightly disregarded because of Covid and the fact that the season was paused and there were rule changes when it was restarted. Other than that, he won every major trophy you can win in this country including a CL which we unfortunately have never achieved. Wenger’s impact on English football is definitely underrated nowadays because he laid the foundations for everything the league has but his final few years unfortunately are a factor in why he’s not underrated- he lost his adaptability in the end and that was one of his biggest strengths in the beginning.
avatar
Also, I see there is some Klopp and Wenger discussion going on in places so my two cents are this. Klopp is ever so slightly overrated, Wenger is ever so slightly underrated, Wenger stuck around too long and became the villain. Klopp is leaving too early for that to happen.
avatar
I imagine he’ll be sold tbh but if not, the next step should be loaning him to the Bundesliga. There’s a proven track record of attackers doing well in the Austrian League and transferring that form over to the Bundesliga and developing into quality players.
avatar
just read about us ( from de telegraaf) having interest in Bijlow, the Feyenoord keeper and i just dont understand why we stay on this keeper cycle when we should be focusing on more vital positions like getting a midfielder to fill Partey’s role
avatar
No he wouldn’t… he’s proven he can’t do it in the prem
avatar
that's true, but 100m on Bruno G is a bit too much imo. I rather settle for a 60m FDJ.
avatar
don't you think it's too big a risk to put in 60m on someone who had frequent injuries in recent past ? I agree he has looked good for the last 2 months but ig he has to go a season escaping injuries to qualify as a target. And Neto is cursed, such a talent being wasted by injuries.
avatar
Why don’t you compare Tottenham’s invincible season to ours? Oh wait Or how about a Tottenham premier league win against ours? Oh wait
avatar
bro does not understand what he posted😭😭
avatar
THIS IS THE DEFINITION OF A REBUILDING PROJECT PEOPLE Now we just need to get over the top and win some trophies

Sacking Poch is insane. They were one of the best team in the league towards the end of the season. What on earth is Todd Boehly smoking, man....
avatar
Agreed. "Should" be over, especially since their 90+7' goal scorer Stanisic was hooked early too
avatar
3:0, should be over. Atalanta said nuh uh.
avatar
Was about to ask that.... you just never know with them....
avatar
Surely.....suuuuurely Leverkusen don't do it again right?
avatar
What a hattrick for Lookman
avatar
They wish they were as good as lookman
avatar
I’m just here to see who comes out on top for Xhaka vs kolasinac 😂
avatar
Had no idea Kolasinac played for Atlanta. Such a strange time at Arsenal, but my favorite moment was when thugs tried to rob Ozil and Kola attacked them
avatar
Sesko would be £55m just to clarify. It is all up to what Arteta assesses is the biggest need with the squad. I trust they’ll do their best to address those needs. I personally think a young ST like Sesko, a top drawer CDM/CM (Bruno or Frenkie) and a defender (either LB or right footed CB) would be the best use of our funds. We signed Havertz and it was deemed not a good use of funds and he almost helped us win a title. So who knows what’s best 😂
avatar
start the satanic ritual at half time today ffs

Indians on Instagram preparing to comment "Neverlusen : so you have chosene death 💀 90+10 we all know 2-2 🔥"

which is exactly what we needed during the run-in to be fair to Leo

https://x.com/kimmoFC/status/1792547379976994996 Look at what my dawg can do with a functioning attack🥹 Out of position and still our best attacker of the match imo. No hate to Trossard, but once you have him and Martinelli on the pitch at the same time, his lack of general play becomes even more obvious. He’s a mini sleep deprived Haaland
avatar
We need runners. Not enough pace in that frontline besides Martinelli.
avatar
I'll pass. Hope he stays at Dortmund, becomes a bit more humble, focuses on his game. Unnecessary risk to bring him back to England.
avatar
Yeah we just don’t need him or the risk, especially when United are reportedly asking 50m. But I think he would do well here if given an opportunity.
